Artwork Title: Synergy
Artist: Amin Vedika
Age: 12
City, Country: Mumbai, India
My artwork titled "Synergy" proposes exemplary harmony in Nature. The key elements in my artwork include a robot with a human brain connected to a human head embedded with a microprocessor, surrounded by positive words like Love, Peace, Humanity, Future, Join and Balance. A cable connecting the human brain and the microprocessor underscore collaboration and interdependence between mankind and technology – at present and in the future. The core message is that technology should work for the greater good of our planet. The DNA structure, molecules and atoms, water, trees, and wildlife represent the vibrant life on our planet. Mankind must respect, preserve, protect and enhance nature. To highlight nature’s rich diversity and accentuate my artwork, I have used color pencils and oil pastels on black art paper.
I create art to raise global awareness about key issues impacting mankind. I hope to motivate people into taking positive action and not being silent spectators as our planet deteriorates. I am Vedika Amin and I care enough to help heal our planet.
Artwork Title: Fleur
Artist: Anabella Kupchik
Age: 16
City, Country: Aventura, Florida, USA
My artwork displays a celebration of beauty and femininity. Each painting, drawing, or design I create explores different techniques and media. This exploration allows for my artistic growth and development while examining relationships between materialism, gender, and aesthetic; all of which are topics that have always intrigued me. This piece titled “Fleur” allowed me to manipulate molding paste while fusing this medium with acrylic paint to develop more familiarity with mixed media. Also, with this piece, I attempted to achieve a balance between the main two subject matters: the orchids (natural/organic beauty) and the woman’s face (enhanced and societal beauty). Making sure that neither component in the piece is more overwhelming than the other while accentuating the prominent features of each component was a learning experience for me and enriched my understanding of visual arts.
Artwork Title: A fresher planet, a fresher world
Artist: Matthew Wang
Age: 6
City, Country: Fremont, CA, USA
One winter, I went to Beijing. That winter, a lot of people were burning coal and the whole city was like wearing a timber-wolf coat. One day, I wanted to go to the zoo, but my grandparents did not want me to go because the air was too bad. A few days later, I finally went to the zoo but with my mask on. Wearing a mask is not fun, not cool and definitely not comfortable. I want to breath fresh air without a mask.
I was on my way to Disneyland when I saw rows of big and white windmills on the rolling green hills. They gave me hopes of a better and fresher planet. I love earth and I love Mother Nature. I want the future earth to have blue sky, fresh air and clean water. Let us work together to take care of our planet.
